I have done probably dozens of projects with Jerry since about 1990, providing metal building systems for him. I remember about 3-4 years ago he called me to describe this complex building with a skewed corner entrance, I was at Defeated Creek Camp Ground in central TN, sitting in my Jeep. I was driving but pulled over in the camp ground to take the notes. . He described these details, overhangs, canopies, bracing conditions, openings, colors, and all the twists and turns of the building shape- all over the phone. I was scribbling down all the information and making little sketches on a small notepad from Holiday Inn. The pad was only about 2-3 inches wide x 4-5 inches. Most of what we did together was over the phone, and very few of the jobs had architectural plans drawn up. We sold the job! It went up and everything worked out. I always think of this story while I go camping or go through a park on a drive. Jerry was always a pleasure to do business with, I considered him my friend and companion as well as associate.
