Hinton-Turner Funeral Home

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Bertie Myers can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

Melanie McCarty Dearing

Bertie cared for me as a baby in the nursery at Central Baptist Church in Paris. She was always hugs, kisses, and saltine crackers. She called my sister and myself, "her girls." Even after we were in high school we would make a stop to the nursery to say hello and get our hug and "sugars" from Bertie. I saw her a year or so again at a local baseketball while visiting family in KY. She took one look at my girls and smiled and made her joyful squeal. She hugged on them just like she did me when I was a little girl. Bertie is a reminder of the impact a person can have on the life of a child.
