David E. Thornberry, 81, retired farmer and IBM employee, husband of Patricia Fryman Thornberry, died Monday, August 3, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born April 4, 1934, son of the late Dewey P. and Ivory Gibson Thornberry, attended Bourbon County High School, a member of the UK 101 Club, and was a member of Spears Mill Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, David is also survived by a son, Larry W. Thornberry, Bourbon County; a daughter, Linda T. (John) Clines, Millersburg; two grandsons, John Daniel Clines, Millersburg, Gregory B. (Shellie) Clines, Cynthiana; a great granddaughter, Kamryn Nichole Clines, Cynthiana; and three sisters, Loverta (Dan) Hall, Alliance, Ohio, Loretta Lare, Alliance, Ohio, and Connie L. (Arnold) Ball, Carlisle. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Elmo, Edward, Earl, Eugene, Edsell, and Ronald Thornberry. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 7, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Charles H. Kemp with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Darrel Thornberry, Jason Thornberry, Drew Thornberry, Gary Pontius, Steve Ball, Ronnie Pontius, and Barry Thornberry. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
