Maureen Elizabeth Takacs, 77, of Nicholas County, wife of Charles Joe Takacs, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Bourbon Community Hospital. She was born July 25, 1937 in Sacramento, California, daughter of the late George and Kathleen Manuel Geiger. Mrs. Takacs was a registered nurse who served with the American Red Cross during the Viet Nam War, served as a Citizen Ambassador, and along with her husband owned and operated several businesses including a Baskin-Robbins. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Christopher (Buffy) Takacs; daughter, Rebecca Claire Smith; and three grandchildren, Hallie Smith, Parker Smith, and Olivia Smith. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
