Claudia Elam, 92, a retired sales clerk, widow of James C. Elam, died Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born January 5, 1922 in Bourbon County, daughter of the late William Henry and Iva Carter Rankin. Mrs. Elam is survived by a son, James Taylor (Wanda) Elam; two grandchildren, Teresa (Joe) Faulconer, Kenny Taylor (Connie) Elam; a sister, Alice Marie Johnson; and a brother, Gene D. Rankin. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Billie Cooper, Rena Tolson, Evalyn Rankin, Audrey Lacy Rankin; and two brothers, Harrison Taylor Rankin and Carl Henry Rankin. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 11, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Bro. Philip Ronk with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Kenny Elam, Joe Faulconer, Carlos Platt, Travis Elam, Billy Rankin, and Chris Campbell. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday.
