Obituary for Samuel Eugene "Sam" Scott Sr.
Samuel Eugene “Sam” Scott, Sr, age 76, of Paris, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 26, 2019. Sam was born on February 1, 1943, in Bourbon County, the son of the late Samuel Boone and Grace Leon Hitch Scott. He was a retired mechanic and a member of First Church of God.
Surviving is his wife, Janet Bartlett Scott and two sons, Sammie Scott, Jr. (Lori) and Charles Scott (Lorraine). Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Katilyn Wheeler (Josh), Ty Justin Scott, Lily Hays, Jacob Scott; 2 great-grandchildren, Brady Garrison and Oaklee Wheeler, as well as two sisters, Betty Hutchins and Beverly Wilson (Johnny).
The funeral service for Samuel Eugene “Sam” Scott will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Don Jolly officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens with casket bearers being Charles Bartlett, Ty Scott, Carlos, Cole Banion, and Roger Hutchins. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 1317 US Highway 62E, Cynthiana, Kentucky 41031-7970.
