Obituary for Curtis Cole

Curtis Cole, 72, of Paris, KY, was the beloved husband of Wanda Mills Cole for 51 years and loving father of Jennifer Allen and Julie (Joe) Craig. Besides his wife and daughters, he is survived by four grandchildren, Macy Allen, Landon Allen, Carley Craig and Cole Craig, four siblings, Harold (Frances) Cole, Raymond Cole, Wanda (Bob) Field, and David Cole, and sisters-in-law, Ruth Cole, Myrtle Cole, Reva Murphy, and Glenda (Silas) Carnes, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Cole, mother, Axie Williamson Cole, and siblings, Beulah Merida, Clifford Cole, Everett Cole, Sally Mills, James Cole, Harlan Cole, Jr., Cathleen Mills, and Jeff Cole.
Curtis passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington, KY. He acquired his Bachelor’s degree from Cumberland College and retired having worked 37 years as the County Executive Director for USDA Farm Service Agency. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church, Paris, and a member of the Adult 3 Sunday School class. He was a Kentucky Colonel, former member of the Paris Lions Club and of The Gideons International Association.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at First Baptist Church between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The funeral will be on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church. The service will be officiated by Bro. Don Reed, Pastor Kyle Sullivan, Dr. Howard Beauman, and Rev. Gary Ellcessor. Interment will follow in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Landon Allen, Joe Craig, Brian Murphy, Silas Carnes, Bob Field, and Darrin Allen. Honorary casket bearers will be deacons of First Baptist Church and members of the Adult 3 Sunday School class.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
