Obituary for Ivy Kingsolver (Jones )

Ivy Jones Kingsolver, age 94, of Paris died on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Bourbon Heights. She was born on October 13, 1924 in Stoke-on-Trent, England, the daughter of the late Ernest and Elsie Lowndes Jones. Also preceding her in death was her sister, Brenda James and brother, Ernest II. After graduating from Wellington Road Primary School in Hanley, England, enter into the British war effort by working at the Swynnerton Munitions Plant in the production of ammunition. During the war she met the late Robert Kingsolver who was in England serving in the U. S. Army Air Corp, 8th Air Force. After the WW II she traveled to America on the Queen Mary with her infant son John and settled in Paris, Ky. In January of 1957 Ivy became a US citizen, a very proud moment in her life. She was employed at the US Army Bluegrass Depot, were she worked as a shipping clerk. She was a member of the Church of England.
Ivy is survived by her children, daughter, Patti Lynn Anderson and her husband, James of Millbrook, AL; two sons, John Thomas Kingsolver and his wife Annette of St. Simons Island, GA and Jimmy Kingsolver and his wife Paula Kay of Meridianville, AL. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, a nephew Paul James and his wife Stephanie of Hanley, England and beloved niece Brenda Joyce Santos and her husband John as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
The service for Ivy Jones Kingsolver will be held at the Paris Cemetery Chapel on December 11, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. The family request visitation on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
