Obituary for Billy Elgin Vanlandingham
Billy Elgin Vanlandingham, age 81 of Paris, died on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Baptist Health in Lexington.
Billy was born in Carlisle, Kentucky on August 03, 1937, the son of the late Adrian and Lillian Bailey Vanlandingham and was a graduate of Carlisle High School. He served in the United States Air Force and later worked as a postal clerk with the Lexington Post Office as well as being a Logging Foreman at Freeman Corporation. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Chase Vanlandingham, and siblings, Scott Vanlandingham, Gayle Vanlandingham, Opal Bolton and Helen Jean Ruble. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Cynthiana.
Surviving is his wife, Katie Elizabeth Rison Vanlandingham and their children, Mark Vanlandingham, Ronald Vanlandingham and wife Gina, Jon Vanlandingham and wife Gae, and Joy Turner and husband Danny. Also surviving are their grandchildren, Brett Vanlandingham and wife Brittany, Cory Turner and wife Rebecca, Shawn Turner and wife Chandra, Jeremy Turner, Madison Vanlandingham, great-grandchildren, Addison Vanlandingham, Dakota Jean Vanlandingham, Joshua Turner, Casen Turner and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Billy Elgin Vanlandingham will be on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Hinton-Tuner Funeral Home with Bro. John Chamberlain officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Camp Nelson Cemetery with casket bearers being Cory Turner, Shawn Turner, Jeremy Turner, Ronald Vanlandingham, Jon Vanlandingham and Mark Vanlandingham.
The family requests visitation on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be to Bluegrass Hospice Care and may be made at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.
