Obituary for Mary Frances Boardman (Ryles)

Mary Frances Ryles Boardman, 91, widow of John Boardman, died Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. She was born October 21, 1926 in Springhill, Tennessee, daughter of the late Lester and America Smith Ryles. Mary attended Center Hill School, was a 1945 graduate of Paris High School, and attended the University of Kentucky. She worked as a secretary for the Bourbon County Health Department from 1948-1952 and as a social worker from 1964-1979. Mary was a member of First Baptist Church-Paris where she belonged to the Eberhardt Sunday School Class and was involved in the Jail Ministry for over 30 years. She is survived by a son, John L. (Pat) Boardman; five grandchildren, Colleene (Dave) Barnett, Steve (Dana) Boardman, Bret (Liz) Boardman, Rachel (Eoin) Ryan, John Singleton Boardman; thirteen great grandchildren, Solomon Halliburton, Haniah Barnett, Preston Barnett, Dalton Boardman, Braydon Boardman, Noah Boardman, Uriah Boardman, TyLeah Boardman, Adrianne Boardman, Jesse Boardman, Corbin Boardman, Angus Ryan, Rory Ryan; cousins, Anne Brence, Gary Allen, Morgan Allen; sister-in-law, Alma Boardman; niece, Leah Boardman; and daughters-in-law, Joan Boardman and Cynthia Boardman. A son, Richard Thomas Boardman, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Dr. Morgan Gilkey and Rev. George Clifton with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Steve Boardman, Bret Boardman, John S. Boardman, Dave Barnett, Bruce Jones, and Phil Hurst. Honorary bearers will be Barry Barnes, Steve Tobin, Marvin Sharon, and Solomon Halliburton. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday.
