Hazel W. Ishmael, 97, formerly of North Middletown, widow of Walter L. Ishmael, died Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Homestead Nursing Home in Lexington. She was born December 18, 1917 in North Middletown, daughter of the late Carlton and Mary Alice Myers Wells, a graduate of North Middletown High School, and was the oldest living member of North Middletown Christian Church. Hazel is survived by a daughter, Nancy (John) McKinney, Versailles; a granddaughter, Cece (Mike) Ferguson, Versailles, a grandson, Lee Andrew McKinney (Tina Coots), Lexington; great grandson, John David Ferguson, Versailles; two sisters, Jean Toohey, Paris, Ruby Wilson, Mount Sterling; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Stephanie Moon with burial in North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Rick Ishmael, Johnny Lane Ishmael, Jeff Ishmael, Bill Toohey, Tommy Toohey, and Gary Turner. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Homestead Nursing Home, 1608 Versailles Road, Lexington, KY 40504.
