Everett Eugene "Gene" Vance, 65, a truck driver, U.S. Air Force veteran, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the V.A. Medical Center, Leestown Road. He was born March 13, 1949 in Mount Sterling, son of the late Bert and Mollie Guy Vance and was a graduate of Bourbon County High School. Gene is survived by a daughter, Gena Vance-Clark; a son, Matthew Vance, both of Shepherdsville; four sisters, Helen (Julian) McKee, Paris, Patricia Dryden, Paris, Linda (Wayne) Dryden, Cynthiana, Margaret Vance, Paris; three brothers, Ricky Vance, Jimmy (Anna) Vance, John (Kathi) Vance, all of Paris; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Garland Vance; and a sister, Wanda Bussell. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Chris Vance, Anthony Dryden, Tim Dryden, Jacob Riddle, Jeff Riddle, and Bill Bussell. There will be no visitation.
