John Joseph Nash, age 56, of Paris, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2014, after a brief illness.
He was born December 7, 1957, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Betty Balllmann Nash and the late John Homer Nash.
He was employed by the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. He was an active member of the Bedford Acres Christian Church in Paris, Kentucky. He enjoyed his work at the University of Kentucky football games as well as UK sports, fishing and watching Premiere League soccer games.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Taylor Nash, daughter Taylor Elizabeth Nash, and son Joshua James Nash; mother, Betty Ballmann Nash of Oakwood, Ohio, brother, Robert Nash, sisters, Nancy Nash (Jonathan Ijaz), Susie (Robert) Hogue, Connie (David) Kearns, all of Dayton, Ohio; mother-in-law, Mary Taylor of Monticello, Kentucky and brother-in-law, Charles (Sandy) Taylor of Tifton, Georgia, and 18 nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his father, John Homer Nash; his sister, Teresa Nash Gottschlich, and his father-in-law, Bill Taylor.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bedford Acres Christian Church, 5414 Lexington Road, Paris, Kentucky 40361. A funeral service will be held at the same location on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Elk Spring Cemetery, in Monticello, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Bedford Acres Christian Church or to the Wounded Warriior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org), 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 in John's name.
