Crummell Keller Kiser Jr., 85, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center after many years suffering from emphysema and a heart condition. He was born July 12, 1928, son of the late Crummell Sr. and Mynta Kuster Kiser and was a lifelong resident of Bourbon County. C.K. was a farmer and was always proud of how his tobacco crop looked when it went to market. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army of Occupation in Japan, a member of First Baptist Church, a Kentucky Colonel, and was a big U.K. basketball fan. C.K. is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jeannine Combs Kiser; one niece, Charlotte McCord; one nephew, Woody (Linda) Berry; three great nieces; two great nephews, one great, great niece; one great, great nephew; several cousins; and his in-law nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant sister; and three brothers. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 20, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Gary Ellcessor with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Nelson Hutson, Charles Fay, James Harris, Gary Royalty, Tommy Berry, Skip Kuster, and Forest Jackson. Honorary bearers will be Charles Puckett, Raymond VanHook, and Dr. Murray West. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church or one's favorite charity.
