Obituary for Roy Nelson Sapp

Roy Nelson  Sapp
Roy Nelson Sapp, 84, of Millersburg, a retired maintenance engineer for IBM, husband of DeLana Louise Stivers Sapp, died Sunday, July 1, 2018 at his daughter’s home. He was born September 16, 1933 in Carlisle, son of the late Joseph Letton and Viola Herrin Sapp. Roy was a faithful member of Millersburg United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Methodist Men and held various offices in the church; a former Cub Scout volunteer; a former Little League baseball coach and coach of the Golden Gals softball team; and helped run the Millersburg Park. In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by a daughter, Machelle Sapp (Danny Clay) Elam; two grandsons, Joe Elam, Josh Elam; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Luther Douglas Sapp and Clay Letton “Dick” Sapp. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7, at the Millersburg United Methodist Church followed by a service at 12:30 p.m. by Rev. David Dupree and Rev. Greg Shannon. Burial will be in Millersburg Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Paul L. Sapp, James D. Sapp, David Earlywine, David Willoughby, Don Stivers, and Bryan Sapp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Millersburg United Methodist Church or Bluegrass Hospice Care.
