Everett  George Jr.
Everett George Jr, 92, a retired farmer and construction laborer, U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, husband of Gladys Paynter George, died Monday, June 18, 2018 at the VA Medical Center. He was born October 11, 1925 in Nicholas County, son of the late Everett and Lorene Shannon George, a graduate of Millersburg High School, and was a member of Herrington United Methodist Church. Everett is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gladys; a son, Garland (JoAnn) George; daughter, Paula (Darrell) Brown; five grandchildren, Amelia (Sean) Brady, Bradley (Michelle) George, Bree (Chris) Garrison, Brett (Yasmin) Becraft, Katie (Lee) Phillips; and twelve great grandchildren, Conner Brady, Cameron Brady, Grant Garrison, Samuel Garrison, Jack Garrison, Merrick George, Atticus George, Lenore Becraft, Maggie Becraft, Isabel Becraft, William Phillips, and Dillon Phillips. A sister, Helen Harney, preceded him in death. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. by April Jolly with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Brett Becraft, Sean Brady, Lee Phillips, Chris Garrison, Grant Garrison, and Cameron Brady. Honorary bearers will be Wallace Brown Jr, Earl Waugh, Lanny Earlywine, and Dailey Earlywine.
