Obituary for Patricia Castle (Evans)

Patricia Evans Castle, 89, widow of former Paris Mayor for 29 years, Douglas F. Castle, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. She was born February 10, 1929 in Pineville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Cletis Lee and Helen Speakes Evans. Pat was a graduate of Paintsville High School, attended Eastern Kentucky University, former board member of Paris Housing Authority, member of Jemima Johnson Chapter D.A.R., Bourbon County Homemakers, Nannie Clay Wallace Garden Club, and member of Paris First United Methodist Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and choir member. She is survived by three sons, Douglas Lee (Damie) Castle, Melbourne Beach, Florida, Kem Evans (Donna) Castle, Max Christian Castle, both of Paris; a granddaughter, Kristal Castle (Joshua) Lovell, Lakeview, New York; and a great granddaughter, Mia Lovell. She was preceded in death by two sisters. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 7, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with burial in Paris Cemetery. Honorary bearers will be Earl Clough, Pat Harrill. Sheila Hughes, Bobbye Gaunce, and Bobby Combs. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to Paris First United Methodist Church.
