Mitchell Lee Tubbs, 88, retired TB Hospital employee, widower of Effie Jane Hatton Tubbs, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Johnson Mathers Nursing Home. He was born February 22, 1930 in Beech Creek, West Virginia, son of the late Mitchell Lee Tubbs Sr. and Lydia Mae Willoughby Johnson. Mitchell is survived by two daughters, Sue (Jim) Hoeft, Judy (Danny) Roe; four grandchildren, Frank (Crystal) Harney, Jeannie (Brandon) Jolly, Joseph Harney, Mike Roe; and nine grandchildren, Katherine Harney, Autumn Harney, Brooklyn Harney, Mason Harney, McKayla Ginter, Dylan Jolly, Makenzie Jolly, Michaela Roe, and Kate Roe. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lydia Jane Tubbs; a brother; and a sister. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with burial in North Middletown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Michael Roe, Branden Jolly, Dylan Jolly, Frank Harney, Joseph Harney, Shawn Bowles, and Billy Earl Wagoner. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
