Rose Helen  Harney (Newman)
Rose Helen Newman Harney, 72, widow of Robert “Bob” Harney, died Friday, January 5, 2018 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. She was born July 1, 1945 in Bourbon County, daughter of the late James Godfrey and Margaret Walters Newman. Rose attended Saint Mary School through the eighth grade and graduated from Paris High School. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Annunciation. Rose is survived by three children, Michael Dean Harney, Melissa Ann Harney, Peggy Marie McCarty; two sisters, JoAnn (Eddie C. “Buddy”) Roe, Judy (Silas C.) Cleaver; and several grandchildren, special aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She had lots of friends at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home where she lived for many years. She loved making crafts and helping others at the nursing home. She also loved to sing and even led the singing at some of the prayer meetings. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Bro. Dale Gatewood with burial in Millersburg Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Eddie G. Roe, Sam Roe, Andy Roe, Silas C. Cleaver III, Jacob Cleaver, Landon Roe, Sam Taylor Roe, Tyler Roe, and Tanner Roe.
