Obituary for Ross Turpin

Ross  Turpin
SFC H. Ross Turpin (US Army-Ret), 82, widower of Jean Allen Turpin, died Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at his home in Lancaster, Ohio following a long illness. He was born March 29, 1935 in Paris, son of the late Hubert and Frances Allison Turpin, attended Paris High School, and was a member of Paris First United Methodist Church. Ross was a highly decorated veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, serving in both the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army. He was a life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, life member of Disabled Veterans of America, member of the Ohio Military Hall of Fame, and Lodge #57, F&AM in Lancaster, Ohio. Ross is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Carl A. and Karen Turpin, Pataskala, Ohio; a sister, Jane Parrett; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Allison Hart “Sonny” Turpin; and two sisters, Jean Hampton Turpin and Mary Dell Turner. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 4, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev Jerri Williams. Burial with military honors will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
