Obituary for Bettye Soper (Prewitt)

Bettye Prewitt Soper, 85, widow of Clyde B. Soper, died Monday, October 2, 2017 at her home. She was born February 6, 1932 in Bourbon County, daughter of the late William Bryan and Sophia Wilson Buchanan Prewitt, a graduate of North Middletown High School, and was a member of Millersburg Baptist Church. Bettye is survived by three daughters, Linda (Victor) Bromagen, Brenda (Claude) Berry, Susan Soper, all of Paris; six grandchildren, Chris Bromagen, Nicholas (Leah) Bromagen, Adam T. Berry, Ashley (Michael) Swearingen, David B. Soper, John (Caitlin) Soper, all of Paris; five great grandchildren, Linzi Bromagen, Luke Bromagen, Andrew Berry, Harrison Swearingen, Brendan Swearingen; three sisters, Ann P. Wills, Paris, Lillie Roberts, Virginia, Jane Martin, Mount Sterling; and three brothers, Davis Prewitt, Paducah, Albert Prewitt, and Catesby Prewitt, both of Mount Sterling. In addition to her husband and parents, Bettye was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeannie L. Soper; four sisters, Emma Prewitt, Bernice McCall, Eileen Culbertson, Bertha Wallace; and four brothers, Bryan, Strauter, Roger, and Tommy Prewitt. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 6, at Millersburg Baptist Church by Brother Dale Gatewood and Brother Lowell Rice with burial in Millersburg Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Chris Bromagen, Nicholas, Leah, Linzi, and Luke Bromagen, Adam and Andrew Berry, Michael, Ashley, Harrison, and Brendan Swearingen, David Soper, John and Caitlin Soper, and Perry French. Honorary bearers will be Philip Soper, Kim Soper, Lee Hopkins, Debbie Lowe, Alan Lowe, Deloris Wells, Eddie Wells, Cathy Roe, and Eddie Hill. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.
