Obituary for Louis Martin Doty

Louis Martin Doty, 75, a retired IBM and Lockheed Martin employee, died Thursday, September 28, 2017. He was born July 4, 1942 in Endicott, NY, son of the late Joseph Donald and Margaret Waters Doty. Louis was active in the Boy Scouts of America for decades, receiving his Eagle Scout as a youth, serving as Scout Master for three different troops, and taking hundreds of scouts to National and International Jamborees. He received the Silver Beaver Award in 1987 and the Saint George emblem in 1989. Louis also served as a volunteer firefighter in New York. He is survived by a daughter, Mikki (Wes) Johnson, Carlisle; son, Timothy (Becky) Doty, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Luke Johnson, Linnaea Doty, Lily Doty; his former wife, Patricia Ward Doty, Paris; two brothers, Tom Doty, Owego, New York, Mark (Alicia) Doty, Ithaca, New York; and a sister, Elizabeth (Allen) Bush, Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Doty; and a sister-in-law, Jane Doty. Funeral mass will be 6:00 p.m. Monday, October 2, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation by Rev. Daniel Fister. Funeral and burial will take place at a later date in Upstate New York. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Pack #63, 197 Lail Lane, Paris, Kentucky 40361.
