Donna Faye  Gaunce (Bates)
Our beloved mother, Donna B. Gaunce, age 71, passed away surrounded by her family Wednesday, August 2, 2017. She was born November 20, 1945 in Bethel, Ohio to Henderson B. and Ruth Calvert Bates. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Roy Clay Gaunce; together they raised three children, Ronald B. Stewart Jr., Diana (Mitchell) Sargent, and Kristie (Rodney) Hudnall. She was a retired employee of Fifth Third Bank where she worked 25 years. She was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren, Adam Wells, Alex (Sara) Wells, Nicholas (Catlin) Stewart, Carolanne (Alex) Dintaman, Josh Stewart, Katherine Hudnall, and Samantha Hudnall. She was also blessed with six great granddaughters, Harper Wells, Braelynn Dintaman, Emsley Dintaman, Chandler Wells, Maris Wells, and Elizabeth Stewart.
She is one of eleven children with surviving siblings, Harold Bates, Arlene Eades, Nancy Dotson, Carl (Virginia) Bates, Brenda (Thomas) Murphy, Doris (Dennis) Swartz, Judy (Jerry) Shelly, and Marilyn Stewart. Two beloved brothers preceded her in death, Julian Bates and Dennis Bates.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 7, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Steven Scherer with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers are Adam Wells, Alex Wells, Stephen Eades, Rodney Dotson, Mike Bates, and Greg Dotson. Honorary bearers will be David Dotson, Jason Dotson, Daniel Swartz, Darin Swartz, Jimmy Lee Fish, Chad Murphy, Robbie Shelly, Ryan Shelly, Junior Bates, Harold Dwayne Bates, Tony Bates, John Bates, Keith Gaunce, Tracy Gaunce, and Jeffery McCarty. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Donations are requested to Hospice Care Center.
