Clara Marie Brandenburg Sargent, 74, died Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Saint Joseph Hospital. She was born January 1, 1943 in Lee County, daughter of the late Lucian “Doc” and Alice Neal Brandenburg and was a member of Central Baptist Church. Clara is survived by a daughter, Gail (Kenny) Tipton, Beattyville; a son, Harry C. (Lisa) Sargent Jr., Paris; three grandchildren, Caitlin Morris, Brook Sargent, Joshua Sargent; two great grandchildren, Prestyn Morris, Kenley Morris; two sisters, Eunice (Ronnie) Flora, Deelee Winburn; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Brandenburg; and four sisters, Sara Gore, Mary French, Eula Burkhart, and Callie Burns. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Karen Brandenburg with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Bobby Sargent, Tommy Sargent, Joshua Sargent, Rathe Stephens, Kenny Tipton, and Joel Flora. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
