George A.  Rassenfoss Jr.
George A. Rassenfoss Jr., 100, a retired civil engineer and founder of Heavenhill Angus, widower of Martha Jaynes Michler Rassenfoss, died Saturday, May 20, 2017 at his home. He was born January 9, 1917 in Pensacola, Oklahoma, son of the late George A. and Ruth Chambers Rassenfoss. George was a graduate of Mount Sterling High School and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He was a member of the Paris Rotary Club with over 65 years of perfect attendance, Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers, American Angus Association, and the Catholic Church of Annunciation. George is survived by five daughters, Betty Pat (William) Koenig, Erlanger, Judy Anne Bishop, Paris, Bridget (Andrew) Wolff, Burlington, Marphy (Rick) Covington, Paris, Mary (Norb) Steuber, Boone County; five sons, John (Judy) Rassenfoss, Boone County, George M. Rassenfoss, Paris, Mike Rassenfoss, Paris, Timothy (Cynthia) Rassenfoss, Paris, Dennis E. (Debbie) Rassenfoss, Paris; a sister, Martha Ruth Mahoney, Spalding, Nebraska; two brothers, William O. Rassenfoss, Defiance, Ohio, Edward F. Rassenfoss, Frankfort; 25 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret Westwood, Kathryn Gregory; two granddaughters, Beth Bishop Burchell, Kristen Gregory; and siblings, John Rassenfoss and Mary Alice Rassenfoss. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 25, at the Catholic Church of the Annunciation by Father Daniel Fister with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Lexington. Casket bearers will be Tom Bishop Jr., Eddie Rassenfoss, Zach Bishop, Eli Covington, Noah Covington, Billy Koenig, Amos Wolff, Scott Rassenfoss, and David Rassenfoss. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with Rosary at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Catholic Church of the Annunciation.
