James Robert "Doug"  Bartlett
James Robert “Doug” Bartlett, 74, former Bourbon County Deputy Sheriff, husband of Elizabeth DeSieno Bartlett, died Monday, December 12, 2016 at Saint Joseph East Hospital. He was born April 18, 1942 in Carlisle, son of the late Robert Elwood and Thelma Maude Snapp Bartlett. Doug was a graduate of Nicholas County schools and the Western Kentucky Sheriff’s Academy. In addition to his wife, Doug is survived by a daughter, Robin (Ricky) Browning; one grandson, Todd (Ashley) Gilvin; three great grandchildren, Jordyn, Jaxon, and Josie Gilvin; and three sisters, Eva Mae Massie, Nancye Wheeler, and Ruby Lukins. His son, James Robert “Perk” Bartlett II, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 16, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with burial in Millersburg Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Ricky Browning, Todd Gilvin, Junior Waters, Dwayne Ison, Steve Roy, and Larry Dunn. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday.
