Obituary for Lida Earl Soper (Gardner)

Lida Earl Gardner Soper, 93, of Little Rock, a retired registered nurse for Johnson-Mathers Nursing Home in Carlisle, widow of John Wyatt “J.W.” Soper, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. She was born June 16, 1923 in Paris, daughter of the late Jesse Hall and Martha Bramel Gardner. Mrs. Soper was a graduate of Paris High School, a 1947 graduate of Good Samaritan School of Nursing, and was a member of Peyton’s Lick Christian Church. She is survived by two sons, John Gardner (Debbie) Soper, Paris, Tom Wyatt Soper, Little Rock; two grandchildren, John Brent (Audra) Soper, Andrea (Pete) Cook; three great grandchildren, Gunner Soper, Wyatt Cook, Shelby Cook; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, at the Paris Cemetery Chapel by Rev. Chuck Perry. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Peyton’s Lick Christian Church.
