Obituary for Henry Allen Myers

Henry Allen  Myers
Henry Allen Myers, 80, retired owner of Myers Machinery, husband of Lois Martin Claypool Myers, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at his home. He was born June 19, 1935 in Nicholas County, son of the late Guy and Bessie Bromagen Myers. Henry was a member of Bourbon Lodge #23, I.O.O.F., a member and Deacon of Spears Mill Baptist Church, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He had worked for General Telephone Company, Wagoner’s Market, and retired with 25 years of service with Duncan Machinery Movers. In addition to his wife, Henry is survived by two daughters, Beverly McDaniel (Ed Pickrell), Augusta, Karen (Tim) Foley, Paris; three grandchildren, Timothy Foley (Whitney Ann), Lexington, Jordan Foley, Bourbon County, Allen McDaniel, Lexington; a great granddaughter, Hadleigh Foley; three stepchildren, Rick (Claudia) Claypool, Paris, Kerry Claypool, Bourbon County, Sandra (Tim) Bohanan, Bourbon County; five sisters, Carol Hatton, Lexington, Mildred McIntyre, Lexington, Lois Caywood, Paris, Janice Boyle, Paris, June (R.L.) Duncan, Lexington; a brother, Wayne (Carolyn) Myers Lexington; five step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sara Margaret Ralls Myers. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Spears Mill Baptist Church by Rev. Phillip D. Ronk with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Art Gibson, Wayne Crump, R.W. Collins, Lew Sharp, Donald Muntz, and Ed Pickrell. Honorary bearer will be Rick Claypool, Floyd Martin, Timmy Bohanan, Ken Thomas, Bobby True, Joe Gregory, and the Deacons of Spears Mill Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
