Obituary for Licha H. Farah Sr.

Licha H.  Farah Sr.
Licha H Farah, Sr., 89 of Carlisle, KY passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016. Licha was born in Memneh, Lebanon on March 15, 1927, one of eight children. He served in the Lebanese Army as a young man. In 1956, Licha came to America, the country he would call home, and where he later became an American citizen. He embodied a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial drive that brought him great success as a business man and farmer. Licha is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Rose Marie and his four loving children, Licha H. Farah, Jr. (Gretchen), Mary-Alicha Weldon (Brian), Edward Jebron Farah and Rose Ann Evans. He was also blessed with seven grandchildren; Mary Caroline, John & Michael Farah, Farah Katherine & Luke Weldon, and Sadie & Sam Evans. Licha was also survived by his sister, Tareze Koury (Ignatius) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Hanna & Mariam Farah, in addition to four sisters (Marroun Khalil, Sadie Sarkis, Jameeli Abou-Khalil and Marina LaFontaine), and two infant brothers at childbirth.
Licha was a devoted family man who, along with his wife Rose Marie, was instrumental in relocating family members from Lebanon to America. He loved his Faith, Family & Country. He truly lived the American Dream.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 10th at Hinton Turner Funeral Home from 4-7 pm, in Paris KY. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 11th at 10am at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Carlisle, KY followed by a burial at the Carlisle Cemetery. A brief visitation will be held at 9 am at the church prior to the funeral mass. Casket bearers will be Brian Weldon, Dr. Hameed Koury, Fareed Koury, John Joseph, George Joseph, George Sarkis, and Ramzi Torbey. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church or to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
