Obituary for Joe Prewitt Davis

Joe Prewitt Davis, 91, of Millersburg, a farmer and landowner, died Saturday, April 2, 2016 at his home. He was born April 2, 1925 in Fayette County, son of the late Harris Prewitt and Edna Buchanan Thompson Davis, a graduate of Wilmore High School, and was a member of Millersburg Presbyterian Church. Joe is survived by his wife of 67 years, Minnie Wright Davis; two sons, James (Becky) Davis, Robert Davis; two daughters, Susan (Castle) Redmon, Linda (David) Williams; a sister, Elizabeth Wright; five grandchildren, Kelly (Zachary) Fryman, Michael (Bridget) Davis, Charles Tapp, Joshua Davis, Meredith (Ryan) Lamkin; five great grandchildren; special niece, Charlotte Box; and several nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Kiser; and two brothers, Luther and Ray Davis. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Julie Thro and Rev. Erin Rouse with burial in Millersburg Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Michael Davis, Zachary Fryman, Charles Tapp, Joshua Davis, Ryan Lamkin, and Chad Davis. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Millersburg Presbyterian Church, Millersburg Cemetery, or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
