Elmer Leon  Hamlin
Elmer Leon Hamlin, 90, widower of his beloved wife, Wanda Unroe Hamlin, died Sunday, March 20 at the Hospice Care Center. He was born January 22, 1926 in Huntington, West Virginia, son of the late George and Della Hamlin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed music and playing guitars with friends. Also preceding him in death were sister, Ruth Hamlin Turner; brothers, Joel, George, and Alford Hamlin; son, Allen Hamlin; and stepson, Paul Edmond Carroll. He is survived by one daughter, Darlene (Larry) Hamlin Lukaschek; son, Harley Hamlin; stepdaughter, Donna (Roger) Carroll Smith; stepson, Ricky Lee Carroll; brothers, Johnny, Harold, and Carroll Hamlin; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Arno) Lucas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Juanita and Ken Bolin; grandchildren, Kayla (Michael) Lukaschek-Mynear, Brenda Mills, Janell Hartley, David Hamlin, Michelle (Kevin) Thompson Florence, Nevia Thompson Garrison, Eugenia and Billy Jack (Amanda) Smith, Ricky Lee Carroll, Paula Carroll Pierce; and several great grandchildren. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 24, at Highland Cemetery in Huntington, West Virginia, with a reception following at the church.
