Obituary for Betty Jane Graves (Duncan)

Betty Jane Duncan Graves, 90, widow of Paul T. Graves, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Bourbon Heights Nursing Home. She was born February 15, 1926 in Nicholas County, daughter of the late Clarence and Eva Prather Duncan and was a retired secretary of Paris Elementary School and homemaker. Betty is survived by a loving family that includes: four sons, Larry (Bobbi) Graves, Lawrenceburg, David (Judy) Graves, Versailles, Stephen Graves, Glen Burnie, Maryland, John (Kim) Graves, Paris; two daughters, Janet Gossell, Lancaster, Ohio, Leisa (Dale) Barker, Lexington; one brother, R.L. Duncan, Lexington; ten grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Joe Duncan; sister, Mary Elizabeth Duncan; and a grandson, Zachary Graves. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, at First Christian Church, Paris, by Rev. Jeff Bell followed by interment at Evergreen Memory Gardens. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Casket bearers are her grandsons, Jonathan Graves, Michael Graves, Jacob Barker, Travis Graves, Jared Graves, Aaron Graves, and Jordan Gossell. Honorary bearers are her granddaughters, Meagan White, Kellyn Clayton, and Grace Truett. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church.
