Sally Slayton Quillin, 61, co-owner of Quillin Leather and Tack, wife of Ralph Quillin, died Monday, May 24, 2010 at her home. She was born January 24, 1949 in Battle Creek, MI, daughter of the late Pearl Clements Slayton and Philip Slayton and received her Nursing Degree from the University of Florida. Sally was a member of Country Friends Homemakers, Stoner Creek Arts, Hopewell Museum board, and the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. In addition to her husband, Sally is survived by two daughters, Hillary Quillin Davila and her husband Joe Davila, McAllen, TX, Katherine Fitzgerald Quillin, San Francisco, CA; and a son, R. Cutler Quillin, III MD, Cincinnati, OH. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 27, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Chaplain Stewart Dawson with burial in the St. Edward's Cemetery, Cynthiana, KY. Casket bearers will be John Downs, Ron Carter, Whitney Innes, Bob Hendricks, Dennis Deaver, and Jim Herbener. Honorary bearers will be Miranda Reynolds, Steve Walton, Ethel Welsh, Terry Perraut, Bruce Wornall, Wayne Sterling, Mike Mullins, and Drew Perraut. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to the Sally S. Quillin Preservation Fund, c/o Historic Paris-Bourbon County, 800 Pleasant Street, Paris, KY 40361.
