Betty Lou Garrison Morrison, 79, widow of Carl David Morrison Jr., died Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at her home. She was born November 4, 1936 in Paris, daughter of the late William Jennings and Artie May Lemons Garrison. Betty was a 1954 graduate of Paris High School, a member of First Church of God-Lexington and was a Kentucky Colonel. She had worked for the old Electric Steam and as an insurance clerk for Central Baptist Hospital and Bourbon County Hospital. She is survived by three sisters, Juanita Garrison, Mary West, both of Lexington, Patricia Sue Ginter, Montgomery County; stepson, Dr. Carl D. (Linda) Morrison III; two step grandchildren, Gracie Winn Morrison, Wyatt Cole Morrison; special brother-in-law, Archie (Beverly) Morrison; niece, Lisa M. Ginter; nephew, Jason M. Ginter Sr.; and special "family", Rev. William H. and Beatrice VanHorn Rose. Betty was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Carlene Wilson; a special step granddaughter, Winnie Kay Morrison; a special brother-in-law, Lowell Wayne Morrison; and a special sister-in-law, Wyona Morrison Shanks. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Dr. Carl D. Morrison III, Cole Morrison, Ronald Keith Garrison, Roger Lemons, Tip Moody, and Don Coomer. Honorary bearers will be Jimmy Garrison, Raymond and Pat VanHook, Phyllis "Lucy" Judy, Anne Moody, Viola Traylor, Katie Vanlandingham, Brenda Wilder, Dr. James L. Ferrell, and Dr. Roberta Allison. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
