John Paul Jones Sr., 76, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away May 14, 2015 at Saint Francis Hospital. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Paris Cemetery by Rev. Gary Ellcessor. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 18, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Vance-Brooks Funeral Home, 4048 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907.
Johns Paul Jones Sr. was born August 9, 1938 in Nicholas County, son of the late Eddis D. Jones and Sudie E. Williams Bono. Other than his parents, John is preceded in death by three brothers, William, Earl, and J.C. Jones.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 27 years, Betty Jones; sons, John Paul (Ruth) Jones Jr. of Columbus, GA, Wendell Wayne (Tammy) Jones of Nicholasville, Brian Keith Jones of Columbus, Ga, Vic (Jess) Orick of Columbus, Ga; a sister, Mary Frances (Jack) Hunt, Nicholas County; brothers, Jerry W. (Frances) Jones of Phenix City, AL, James W. Jones of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Dakota Jones, Rebecca Jones, Amanda Jones, Brian Jones, Breanna Jones, James Jones, Lindsey Orick, Marley Orick, Riley Orick, Cheryl George, Tommy (Tonya) Toole, Catherine Foxworth; five great grandchildren; and two great, great grandchildren.
