Betty Jo Sharpe Turner, 80, widow of Billy Spencer Turner, died Monday, March 9, 2015 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. She was born July 14, 1934 in Little Rock, daughter of the late Joseph Lindsey Sharpe Sr. and Virginia Mae Mason Hornsby. Betty Jo was a 1952 graduate of Bourbon County High School, a member of Paris First United Methodist Church where she was active in GEMS, and enjoyed her work as a volunteer at the Bourbon Community Hospital. She is survived by a daughter, Lori Bowles Carter, Paris; two stepsons, Bill Turner, Don (Shelley) Turner, both of Paris; six grandchildren, Delaney Spencer Bowles, Macy Adriana Bowles, Dan Willard, Dalton Turner, Destin Turner, Caelan Turner; three sisters, Alice Panstingle, Donna (David) Cassity, Glenda Garrison; three brothers, James (Elizabeth) Sharpe, Joseph (Gerry) Sharpe Jr., Richard (Kathleen) Sharpe; a sister-in-law, Betty Jo Prather Turner; special friends, Susan Hatley, Naomi Norris; nieces and nephews, Angela Green, Bennett Ratliff, James Ratliff, Erica Gates, Lindsey Margolin, Lin Sharpe, Robert McCarty, Suzanna Sharpe, Tilford Garrison, Laura K. Garrison, Tommy Turner, Mary Ann Adams, Carol Jean Fischer; and several great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at First United Methodist Church by Rev. Gary Graves with burial in Carlisle Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Lin Sharpe, Robert McCarty, Bennett Ratliff, Tilford Garrison, Everett Garrison, and Johnny Norris. Honorary bearers will be Bill Turner, Don Turner, Chris Bowles, James Ratliff, Tim Howard, and Vince Wagner. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home.
