Boyd Ison, 73, a retired farmer, husband of Laura June Broughton Ison, died Friday, October 31, 2014 at his home. He was born October 23, 1941 in Ashland, Kentucky, son of the late James Martin and Rosetta Dulin Ison and was a member of Silas Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Boyd is survived by three daughters, Rosa Lynn Sanders, Carlisle, Tricia Kay (Chris) Perry, Williamstown, Laura Louise (Herman) Jackson, Paris; three sons, Dwayne Ison, Paris, James Mark Ison, Columbus, OH, Daniel Jay (Cayla) Ison, Paris; four sisters, Minnie Barker, Lorene Trimble, Donna Sue (Russell) Burgett, Debbie (Billy) Nickel, all of West Liberty; three brothers, Troy Ison, Curtis (Linda) Ison, both of West Liberty, Bob ( Rheba) Ison, Fairborn, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Laura Bennett, Paris; a brother-in-law, Roger Ball; twelve grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bernita May Ball. Graveside services will be conducted 12 noon Monday, November 3, at the Ison Cemetery in West Liberty by Bro. Curtis Coots, Bro. Curtis Ison, and Bro. Roger Ball. Casket bearers will be Dwayne Ison, Mark Ison, Daniel Ison, Herman Jackson, Chris Perry, and Jim Means. His grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as honorary bearers. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Silas Baptist Church. Hinton-Turner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
