Charles Eugene Estes, 76, a retired Lexington firefighter, U.S. Navy veteran, widower of Shirley Ann Collins Estes, died Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Baptist Health Care. He was born March 19, 1938 in Bourbon County and was a member of David's Fork Baptist Church. Charles is survived by three sons, Daniel E. (Brenda) Estes, Timothy B. (Anna) Estes, Jeffrey A. Estes, all of Lexington; three grandchildren, Jason Estes, Andrea Estes, Shelby Estes; sister, Carole (Steve) Dawson; and a brother, David Estes. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Terry Freeman with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Gary Anderson, Michael Davis, Joe Todd, Frankie Collins, Homer Rockvoan, and Curtis Remly. Honorary bearers will be Kristopher Strebeck, Bob Brennan, and Carey Manning. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
