Betty Jean Kahlenbeck, 86, widow of Charles \"Chuck\" Kahlenbeck, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Bourbon Heights. She was born July 21, 1926 in Anderson, IN, daughter of the late Keith and Pauline Ricker Lewis. Betty was an active member of Central Baptist Church, and a life member of VFW, Huntington, IN. She had worked at Blue Grass Industries, JC Penney, Busy Bee Day Care, and Paris Independent Schools. Betty is survived by two daughters, Judy (Terry) Jones, Becky (Ron) Scott, both of Paris; five grandchildren, Chris (Shana) Jones, Paris, Mike (Kate) Jones, Lexington, Brian Scott, Paris, Leslie (James) Morris, Paris, Lisa (George) Livingood, Paris; seven great grandchildren, Parker, Zack, Emily, and Aiden Jones, Samuel and Emma Morris, Will Riley; a sister, Joan (Jim) Roth, Fort Wayne, IN; brother-in-law, Paul Kahlenbeck, Columbus, IN; and special friend, Melissa Sego-Jones, Lexington. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bob and Doris Lewis and Tom Lewis. The family expresses special appreciation to the staff at Bourbon Heights, Dr. Ray Young, and Dr. Nathan Moore. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Dan Russell and Rev. Mickey Ballard with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Chris Jones, Mike Jones, Brian Scott, James Morris, George Livingood, and Tracy Cameron. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to Central Baptist Church Building Fund.
