Charles \"Chuck\" Kahlenbeck, 86, retired JC Penney manager, U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, husband of Betty Lewis Kahlenbeck, died Friday, October 12, 2012 at Harrison Memorial Hospital. He was born April 24, 1926 in Huntington, IN, son of the late Henry and Pearl Lowman Kahlenbeck. Chuck was a member of Central Baptist Church, life member of the Huntington, IN VFW, and had also served as manager for McDonald restaurants in Seymour, IN, Bedford, IN, and Mount Vernon, IN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Judy (Terry) Jones, Becky (Ron) Scott, both of Paris; five grandchildren, Chris (Shana) Jones, Paris, Mike (Kate) Jones, Lexington, Brian Scott, Paris, Leslie (James) Morris, Paris, Lisa (George) Livingood, Paris; seven great grandchildren, Parker, Zack, Emily, and Aiden Jones, Samuel and Emma Morris, Will Riley; brother, Paul Kahlenbeck, Columbus, IN; and special friend, Melissa Sego-Jones, Lexington. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Lena Allen, Margaret Stephan, Ruth Harnish, and Thelma Kahlenbeck. The Kahlenbeck family expresses special appreciation to the Veteran's Administration, Hospice of the Bluegrass, Grand Haven Nursing Home, and Harrison Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 18, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Dan Russell with burial in Paris Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Chris Jones, Mike Jones, Brian Scott, James Morris, George Livingood, and Tracy Cameron. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Central Baptist Church Building Fund.
