John Ott, Jr., age 89, of Millersburg, beloved husband and father, passed away Monday May 17, 2010. He was the first born child of John and Rena Simms Ott. He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Louise Hash Ott; daughter, Susan Jayne Ott (Richard Onizuka); son, John Stephen (Paula) Ott; and grandson, Jonathan (Katherine) Ott. John was a veteran, having served in the Air Force during World War II. He spent the majority of his life as a resident of Millersburg, Kentucky where he served on the Millersburg City Council and as Police Judge. He also served a distinguished tenure on the Bourbon County Planning and Zoning Committee. He was a founding member of Central Baptist Church, Paris, Kentucky and was a deacon and Adult Sunday School teacher in the Millersburg Baptist Church. Visitation will be Friday, May 21, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home in Paris, Kentucky. The funeral service, led by Rev. Dan Russell and Rev. Dale Gatewood, will be held at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home on Saturday, May 22, at 10:30 a.m. with interment to follow in the Millersburg Cemetery. Casket bearers will be the Honorable Judge Paul Isaacs, John Smoot, Rick Hash, Dennis Hinkle, Jonathan Eli Ott, and John Stephen Ott.
