Charles Preston Yazell, 66, of Lexington and formerly of Paris, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 28, 2009 at St. Joseph Hospital surrounded by his family and his dear friend, Vallory Horseman. He was born November 29, 1942 in Bourbon County, son of the late Carl Edward and Lena Walton Yazell and was a graduate of Bourbon County High School, Class of 1960. He is survived by two sons, Bradley (Judy) Yazell, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Doug Yazell, Lexington; a brother, Carl (Leona) Yazell, Jr., Paris; eight sisters, Molly (Eddie) Woods, Thelma Bentley, Betty Tucker, Lillian (Jack) Plummer, all of Paris, Florine Mastin, New Carlisle, OH, Janet (Jerry) Price, Lexington, Martha (Wayne) Rankin, Hendersonville, NC, Mildred (H.B.) Gracey, Lincolnton, GA; four grandchildren, Haley, Kyle, Kelly, Keri Yazell; and dear friend, Vallory Horseman, Lexington. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Yazell; and two sisters, Stella Cozine and Dorothy Yazell. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at the Hinton-Turner Funeral Home by Rev. Scott Winkler with burial in Evergreen Memory Gardens. Casket bearers will be Mark Bentley, Steven Plummer, Jay Price, Travis Yazell, Larry Tucker, David Tucker, Brian Cozine, and Brett Horseman. Honorary bearers will be Eddie Woods, Jack Plummer, Wayne Rankin, Jerry Price, Mike Whitlock, Jeff Johnson, Patrick Johnson, Roy Walton, Vicki Horseman, and Bradley Radison. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
